Brought in a Seiko 5 that had been running about forty seconds fast per day. The service report showed the timing before and after — it went from roughly +38 seconds to +4 seconds across the five positions. The written documentation was something I had not seen from other shops here. Collected it within three weeks as stated.

Simple battery replacement for my everyday quartz — done the same afternoon I dropped it off. I appreciated that they returned the old battery in a small envelope so I could see the reference number. The intake note was more thorough than I expected for something so routine. Would return for the mechanical service on my father's old watch.

I came in with a mid-1960s Swiss manual-wind that had not run in years. The vintage programme was explained patiently — the inspection visit was just a look and a conversation, no pressure to proceed further. The written plan they sent after was detailed and made the options clear. The final service took about six weeks but the watch runs steadily now and the dial was left exactly as it was.

Mechanical service on my daily Tudor. The process was orderly — intake note at drop-off, a call when it was ready, the service report at collection. The timing data showed clearly where it had been and where it ended up. Nothing was done beyond the agreed scope. I left with a watch running within about five seconds a day and a piece of paper explaining how.

Took two quartz watches in on the same visit. Both done by afternoon. The one thing I noticed is that the workshop is by appointment for mechanical jobs — I had assumed walk-in for everything, but it was explained at the counter without any fuss. The battery service itself was exactly what was described on the website, including the written note.

I was reluctant to put my grandfather's early 1970s Citizen automatic through a full service because I did not know what would happen to the original parts. The vintage programme addressed this directly — the plan they produced after the inspection named each component they intended to keep and noted the one spring they would need to source. That level of specificity made the decision straightforward.

Case Studies
Three watches, described in some detail.
Case Study 01
A 1968 Swiss manual-wind dress watch with a stuck crown
Challenge
The owner had inherited the watch and found the crown completely immovable. The dial had a patina they wanted to preserve, and no parts had been sourced for this calibre in years.
Approach
Vintage programme initiated. Inspection found a corroded stem and damaged setting lever. A sympathetic replacement stem was sourced from a parts watch of the same calibre. Dial was cleaned only lightly.
Outcome
Watch returned to running order within ±12 seconds per day. Crown functions correctly. Original dial and hands retained without alteration. Full written record produced.
"I did not expect it to run again. That it does, and looks as it did, is more than I had hoped for." — Owner, Ampang, KL
Case Study 02
A daily-wear ETA-based automatic losing several minutes per day
Challenge
Owner reported the watch losing four to six minutes per day. It had not been serviced in approximately seven years. No damage was visible externally.
Approach
Full mechanical service. Pre-service Witschi timing confirmed significant amplitude loss and inconsistent rate across positions. Ultrasonic cleaning revealed heavily degraded mainspring lubricant. Mainspring replaced.
Outcome
Post-service timing: average +6 seconds per day across five positions. Amplitude restored to within normal range. Water resistance confirmed on pressure tester.
"The before and after numbers in the report made clear what had been wrong. I would not have known without them." — Owner, Petaling Jaya
Case Study 03
A fashion quartz with a dead battery and cloudy crystal
Challenge
Watch had stopped running. Owner noted the crystal had become hazy over time and was uncertain whether the watch was still water resistant.
Approach
Battery and quartz service. Battery replaced, gasket inspected and found to be compressed. Replacement gasket fitted. Crystal haziness noted but assessed as surface only — polished by owner separately.
Outcome
Watch returned to running order same afternoon. Intake note recorded gasket replacement and battery reference. Owner collected with the old battery for reference.
