A workshop for watches that deserve attention.
Bench services for quartz, mechanical, and vintage timepieces — carried out with care, documented in writing, and explained plainly.
Workshop Services
Three clearly defined services.
Each service is scoped to a particular kind of work, so you know what will be done before anything begins. Pricing is fixed within each service category.
Battery & Quartz Movement
Walk-in service
Battery replacement, gasket inspection, dial-side cleaning, and a movement check on bench equipment. You receive a written intake note covering what was found and what was replaced.
- Battery replaced, original returned on request
- Gasket inspection included
- Same-day for straightforward jobs
Mechanical Service — Three-Hand
Full bench service
Disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication, timing on a Witschi machine, water-resistance check, and a regulation pass. You receive a service report with timing rates in five positions, before and after.
- Witschi timing — five positions
- Ultrasonic component cleaning
- Water-resistance case check
Vintage Restoration Programme
Staged, conservation-minded
A staged programme for older mechanical watches where parts are scarce and dial integrity matters. Work is split across visits: inspection with photographs, a written plan with options, then a sympathetic final service prioritising original components.
- Photographic inspection record
- Original components prioritised
- Reversible decisions only
Why Horolux
Straightforward reasons to bring your watch here.
Written Documentation
Every job produces a written intake note. You know what was found, what was done, and what was replaced before the watch leaves the bench.
Bench Equipment, Not Guesswork
Timing checks are done on a Witschi timing machine. Water-resistance is tested on a pressure tester. Results are measurable and reported.
Conservation Over Replacement
For vintage pieces, original components are kept where possible. No parts are swapped without explanation. Reversible decisions are the default.
Honest Timelines
Quartz jobs typically turn around the same day. Mechanical services take longer and the schedule is agreed at intake. There are no vague promises.
Staged Programme for Vintage Work
The vintage programme is structured in visits, not rushed. You can review the plan and opt out of any step before work proceeds.
Located in Bangsar Baru
The workshop is at 27-3A Jalan Telawi 3 — accessible, with parking nearby. Drop-in visits are welcome for quartz services during workshop hours.
